Choose Juvéderm Fillers for Beautiful and Youthful Skin

Juvéderm Fillers are the fillers of choice for thousands of men and women across Canada and beyond. They’re a soft tissue dermal filler, which means that they fill areas below the skin to plump them up and fill them out again. They contain a substance called hyaluronic acid which works to fill the dermal layers of skin. Hyaluronic acid is the most commonly used dermal filler and requires no patch test because it very rarely causes irritation or allergic reactions.

Like with many other hyaluronic acid injectable dermal fillers, there are a few different types. Which one our highly skilled and trained therapists use will depend on which area of the face you’re having treated, and how much filler it needs. The most common Juvéderm Filler is Juvéderm Voluma and can be used all over the facial area including the lips.

One of the most treated areas are the lips, but also the cheeks. As we age, we can develop sunken cheeks as our natural collagen levels fall. Collagen is like a scaffold for the face, supporting all the layers of skin and soft tissue that forms our face shape. As it decreases over the years, all of the tissue it was supporting begins to sink. And that’s when we get tell-tale lines, wrinkles and furrows as well as hollowing.

But we don’t have to accept that! Juvéderm Fillers are a great way of fighting the ageing process and turning back the clock. They can give us back our plump lips and high cheek bones, leaving us to face the world with pride. They can also fill wrinkles and lines in the forehead and at the temples.

And what’s more, its only minimally invasive, meaning that you’ll only feel mild discomfort and a few sharp scratches. Juvéderm Filler injections contain Lidocaine, a mild fast acting anaesthetic so your skin will be numbed as its applied. You can have your Juvéderm Fillers during your lunchtime and return to work the same day. If you have a lot of filler, or just if you want to, take a day or two off from your normal duties and relax. You might notice some swelling and bruising at the injection site but this is normal and will only last a few days.

Gain your youthful confidence again and feel amazing. Book in for Juvéderm Fillers with us today and let us expertly take care of you.

Get Amazing Results with our PRP Hair Loss Treatment

Hair loss is a common affliction, affecting both men and women as they age. Unlike lines and wrinkles however, hair loss can begin much earlier, when people are in their 30s or even their 20s. It can be distressing at any age and until recent years, treatments have been unreliable with unpredictable results.

But the revolutionary new PRP hair loss treatment is now an option to treat male pattern baldness and thinning hair in women without expensive and time-consuminghair transplants.

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Therapy and you may have heard of the PRP vampire facial before, made famous by Kim Kardashian. The PRP hair loss treatment works in a similar way to the PRP vampire facial. Our expertly trained therapists will talk through your procedure at length with you and ease any fears you have.

The process involves taking a small amount of your blood, just like you’d experience during a blood test at your doctor’s office. This sample is then placed into a centrifuge to spin it at high speeds which separates the red blood cells from the straw-colored plasma part of your blood. This plasma is the part that our therapists will use during your treatment and is rich in platelets. It contains the essential building blocks that help the body to regenerate and heal, ideal for strengthening hair follicles and encouraging thicker hair growth.

This plasma is then either injected into your scalp where your hair loss or thinning hair is most apparent. It can also be ‘dermarolled’ which makes use of a small roller lined with tiny needles rolled over the scalp to deliver the platelet rich plasma and stimulate hair growth.

Our therapists will be able to advise you, and depending on your level of hair loss or thinning, you can expect to need around seven to ten sessions of PRP hair loss treatment. You will usually start to see results after the fourth or fifth session.

Hair loss and thinning hair can be caused by ageing, and also hormonal imbalances and genetic influences. None of which are easy to reverse or change. Book in with our PRP hair loss therapy specialists today and see what difference we can make for you.

Fat Reduction with Injection Lipolysis

If you’re looking for some help to get rid of unwanted fat, then injection lipolysis could be exactly what you’re looking for. If diet and exercise hasn’t done what you want it to, or it hasn’t done quite enough, you might have considered some help from cosmetic surgery. But liposuction sounds a bit scary and its expensive and requires hospital treatment.

Injection lipolysis could be your magic bullet! It helps to eliminate fat quicker than diet and exercise and doesn’t require surgery. In fact, it just requires a few injections and is only slightly uncomfortable, about the same as Botox or dermal fillers. And what’s more, because its only minimally invasive, you’ll be able to get in with your normal work and life duties the very next day. You can go back to them the same day, but we’re always fans of putting your feet up for an afternoon.

Depending on your body shape and your requirements, you’ll probably need a course of treatments. Our qualified technicians will talk you through your options and what kind of results you can expect. They’ll also help put your mind at rest if you have any concerns or worries.

Injection lipolysis works by bursting open fat cells and dissolving the contents so that they can be eliminated by the body naturally. The substance inside our injection lipolysis treatments is called a lipolytic agent, which means that it can break down the walls of fat cells, causing them to release their unwanted contents. It’s mixed with a local anesthetic that will numb your skin so all you’ll feel is a few sharp scratches and some mild discomfort. We’ll then use heated radiofrequency technology to help contour your shape and tighten your skin.

Injection lipolysis can be used to eliminate fat from your abdomen, inner thighs, knees, upper arms and love handles. You should notice the difference after your first session, and then you’ll see further results after each session. Each session is usually four to six weeks apart. As fat cells are destroyed during this treatment, these dead cells cannot come back. As long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, you shouldn’t notice new fat cells forming and the results should keep you looking great!

Laser Vaginal Tightening and Rejuvenation

There are many reasons why women may like to have a laser vaginal tightening and rejuvenating treatment. The main one is vaginal childbirth, but there can also be reasons such as weight loss, weight gain, ageing and even after the use of Tamoxifen to treat breast cancer. Vaginal looseness can result in weak vaginal muscles, leading to loss of control of the muscles that control the bladder causing urinary incontinence and a lack of pleasure or sensation during sexual intercourse. It can even eventually lead to fecal incontinence.

Laser Vaginal Tightening Surgery

The vaginal wall contains collagen fibers, just like those on our face. When we age, this collagen weakens, and it can no longer provide a strong network for the skin to sit on. That’s why we get fine lines and wrinkles. The same happens in the vagina, causing its walls to become loose and have little elasticity. This can also lead to vaginal infections such as thrush (candida) and cystitis that can be upsetting and uncomfortable.

Laser vaginal tightening surgery can help to tighten the vagina back up again and stimulate collagen growth. This not only helps to treat all the associated problems, but also gives the patient a youthful feel again. It can also help women who suffer with age related vaginal dryness.

This type of minimally invasive treatment is quick and relatively pain-free. Many women report at most a mild warmth and tingling sensation. It’s usually over in minutes and you can return to work and normal activities the next day (after an afternoon with your feet up). You should notice the positive results within a week or so. Depending on the level of looseness in your vagina to start with, you may need more than one session of laser therapy, but that will be discussed with you at your consultation with one of our experts. Amazingly, the results should then last you around 18 months to two years.

During the treatment, a small rod will be inserted into your vagina using the same sort of speculum that you’d expect during a routine pap smear. The laser is contained within this rod and the whole procedure usually lasts no longer than half an hour.

Instructions after Botox and Dermal Filler Treatment

Post Botox treatment

  • Remain upright (no lying down or bending over) for 4 hours. This will prevent Botox from tracking into the orbit of your eye and causing drooping eyelid.
  • The treatment area may be gently washed 4 hoursafter treatment, avoiding aggressive scrubbing or rubbing.
  • Avoid make up for the treatment area for 4 hours after treatment.
  • On the day of treatment do NOT perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, and hot showers/baths. This will keep the Botox in the injected area.
  • Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol for 24 hours to avoid bruises.
  • It can take approximately 4 to 7 days for results to be seen. If the desired result is not seen after 2 weeks of your treatment you may need additional Botox.
  • Botox will last approximately 2-3 months at first. However, if you maintain your treatment appointments with the frequency recommended, the duration of each treatment result may last longer than four months.

Post Dermal Filler Treatment

  • Do not do any aerobic exercise for 24 hours after the procedure.
  • Do not consume excessive alcohol or salt for 24 hours after the procedure.
  • Try to avoid sun beds and saunas for 3-4 days after the procedure.
  • Do not receive faciallaser treatments or microdermabrasionfor at least 10 days.
  • Try to sleep face up for the two nights following your treatment.
  • After filler is injected, you may be bruised, or feel tiny bumps or swelling. This will all go down in time and you will feel the full effect of filler in about two weeks.
  • To minimize bruising and swelling, avoid the use of: Vitamin E, Green Tea, Fish Oil, Aspirin and Advil until all bruising and swelling have resolved.
  • Use Tylenol for discomfort. Take Arnica to help the bruising and swelling.
  • It is normal to feel ‘firmness’ in your injection area for the first several days after treatment.  Over time, the area will soften, leaving a soft natural looking result.
  • We will massage the areas treated thoroughly straight after the treatment, but you can do some gentle massage at home during the next 24 hours.
  • After Lip Filler, avoid hot drink. Use an ice pack on/off throughout the first day or two and keep head elevated while sleeping to minimize swelling and bruising.

Even out your skin tone with our range of pigmentation treatments

We all know the drill – wear sunscreen. We can’t express enough how important this is, even in the colder months the sun can still be strong enough to cause aging, sun spots and worse, even if it feels cold outside.

But sometimes, we get areas of skin that become darker or lighter than the rest. This could be due to sun damage, and can also be caused by our genes or by certain medical conditions and hormone imbalances. These patches are known as areas of hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation. The color of our skin is dictated by the amount of melanin we have. The more melanin, the darker our skin. When our skin is damaged or weakened by the sun or by other factors, it produces more melanin in order to help protect it, resulting in darker patches, or hyperpigmentation. Conversely, if the cells that produce melanin get damaged, say by heavily picking at a spot or being burnt, they can no longer produce melanin, leading to hypopigmentation, or, areas that are lighter. Either way, the skin tone becomes uneven.

Help is at hand however. Unevenly pigmented skin can be treated at our salon by eMatrix, derma rolling, chemical peels and IPL.

eMatrix skin rejuvenation

eMatrix is a non-laser skin rejuvenation treatment that fires radio waves at the skin in a process called sublative rejuvenation. It effectively resurfaces the skin, leaving it looking fresh and even. Another added benefit is that it stimulates the production of collagen and leaves skin looking younger and plumper, too!

Derma rolling

Derma rolling, or microneedling, is an advanced technique for treating uneven skin tones. It involves using a titanium roller that contains thousands of tiny needles to create thousands of tiny wounds to the skin. The healing process then causes the skin to rejuvenate, evening out tone and boosting collagen production to plump up the skin.

Chemical peels

Our chemical face peels are made up of naturally occurring exfoliating acids and enzymes that slough away dead skin cells, leaving behind smoother, softer, younger looking skin. The active ingredients effectively even out skin tone too, getting rid of visible sun damage and uneven areas of the skin.

IPL

IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is a type of laser treatment. The light from the laser is only absorbed by skin cells containing high amounts of melanin, i.e., in darker areas of skin. As the laser passes over the skin, it destroys the melanin pigment, leaving the surrounding lighter skin cells untouched.

Most treatments require a course for the full benefits to be seen and our qualified therapists can advise you which one is best for your skin and will explain what to expect from each treatment. Book your consultation to find out how we can help your pigmentation problems.

Laser hair removal – less painful than you think!

Shaving, waxing, hair removal creams, sugaring and epilating all have their place – they can all be done at home, or you can arrange to have most done in a salon. But when we have busy lives, unwanted hair can be a pain, annoying and quite frankly, a bit of a chore.

But what if you could have hair removed, permanently? No more hurried shaving cuts in the shower, last minute visits to the salon to have a wax or being conscious of prickly legs when the sun makes an unexpected appearance.

It’s laser hair removal to the rescue!

Laser hair removal is quick, relatively pain free and the results are permanent. After only a few visits to have your chosen areas treated, you’ll be gorgeously hair-free and smooth. You can have your legs treated, your bikini line, your chest and even delicate areas of your face.

And it really isn’t as painful as you might think. Our therapists are experts, and will talk you through every step of the process and take it as slowly as you like.

Laser hair removal is suitable for all skin types and colors and results in smoother skin and less chance of ingrown hairs. It’s also great if you have a condition such as PCOS which causes excessive hair growth.

Lighter hair is unsuitable for laser hair removal and our therapists will advise how your unwanted hair will respond to treatment. Generally, the darker the hair, the better the result. This is because the laser is attracted to dark pigments in the hair follicle, the darker the pigment, the more the laser will be attracted to it and the more likely that hair follicle is to be killed.

Each laser hair removal session is tailor made to you. Your therapist will adjust the laser to suit the darkness of your hair and the color of your skin. The darker your skin, the longer the wavelength of the laser that will be used. This makes sure it penetrates deeper into the skin, below the melanin, avoiding burning the skin. Your therapist will pass the laser over the area which also has a cooling blast of cold air to help keep your skin calm. You’ll hear the buzz of the laser and both you and your therapist will need to wear UV goggles to protect your eyes.

We all have different pain thresholds, but generally laser hair removal feels no more than annoying, like being continuously flicked with an elastic band. How many treatments you’ll need will depend on the size of the area being treated and how thick your hair is. Most areas can be 90% free from hair in six sessions.

In the long run, you’ll be saving not only time, but money too as you won’t need to buy razors or book waxing sessions. Book your first appointment today and begin your journey to effortlessly smooth, hair-free skin, every single day!

Reduce your acne scarring with our top of the range skin treatments

Acne scars can really get you down. Even once the years of suffering acne are long gone, the scars it leaves behind can still look angry and red and can give the skin an uneven texture.

Our qualified therapists are fully trained in giving skin smoothing treatments and can give you the smoother, clearer skin that you deserve. There are many ways we can treat your acne scars, including fractional laser, eMatrix, derma rolling and chemical peels. We’ll also be realistic about your results too, as no treatment will ever completely remove all acne scarring. But we can make a huge difference to your skin, and your confidence.

Fractional laser for acne scars

Fractional laser is a form of non-ablative laser treatment. This means that the treatment doesn’t fire lasers at the skin to remove the top few layers. Instead it treats the skin deeper down, heating it up to treat the damage caused by acne scarring. It results in smoother, rejuvenated and plumper skin, with less noticeable scars. Like with most acne scarring treatments, how many sessions of fractional laser you’ll need, depends on your skin type and level of scarring. Our experts will be able to advise you. Fractional laser is the quickest route to smoother skin.

eMatrix for acne scarring

Unlike fractional laser, eMatrix doesn’t use a laser to treat the skin although it produces similar results. It uses radio waves to penetrate deep into the skin, boosting collagen production. Collagen is like a ‘framework’ for our skin to sit on. The more collage there is, the plumper the skin and the less visible any acne scarring will be.

Derma rolling for smoother skin

Derma rolling sessions involve your therapist rolling a titanium roller over your skin. This roller contains thousands of micro needles which create thousands of tiny holes in the skin. These holes kick start the natural wound healing and skin rejuvenation processes, which result in smoother skin and less noticeable acne scarring.

Chemical peels for acne scars

Chemical skin peels make use of products containing acids and enzymes that seriously exfoliate the skin, more than any exfoliator you’d use at home. As the top few layers of skin cells are shed, the skin underneath is fresher and smoother, and less likely to be affected by acne scarring. Facial peels such as these are a slower route to smoother skin, but suit many people.
